• John Bai, CA, CFA

  Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities

  John Bai is a member of the Core team and a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for managing the Canadian Equity Core strategy.

  Mr. Bai has 16 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 2005. Prior experiences include positions in Strategy and Corporate Development and as Analyst and Senior Associate at leading Canadian and international investment management and consulting firms.

  Mr. Bai graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (BA), majoring in Economics. He also obtained the Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.

• Carole Berthiaume, MBA

  Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities

  Carole Berthiaume is a member of the Value team, is the lead portfolio manager for the Canadian Equity Value strategy and contributes to the management of the Canadian High Income Equity strategy. She is also a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

  Ms. Berthiaume has over 16 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since its inception. Prior experiences include positions as Portfolio Manager, North American Equities, as well as Canadian Equity Portfolio Manager and Analyst positions at some of Canada’s leading investment management and consulting firms.

  Ms. Berthiaume graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke with a Bachelor of Science (BSc). She later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from McGill University.

• Michael Brown, CA, CFA

  Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Equities

  Michael Brown is a member of the Value team, is the lead portfolio manager for the Canadian High Income Equity strategy and contributes to the management of the Canadian Equity Value strategy.

  Mr. Brown has 8 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 2005. Prior experiences include positions as Assistant Portfolio Manager, Investment Analyst and Senior Associate at leading Canadian investment management firms.

  Mr. Brown graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm), majoring in Accounting. He also obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.

• Andrew Chan, M.Sc.

  Assistant Portfolio Manager, Foreign Equities

  Andrew Chan is a member of the Foreign Equity team and is an Assistant Portfolio Manager for the U.S., International and Global Equity strategies.

  Mr. Chan has over 8 years of industry experience and joined the firm in 2009. Prior experiences include Senior analyst positions for U.S. and global equities at leading investment management firms.

  Mr. Chan graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm), majoring in Finance. He later obtained a Master of Science in Finance (MSc) from HEC Montréal.

• Michael Chan, CFA

  Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Small Cap Equities

  Michael Chan is jointly responsible for the management of the Canadian Small Capitalization investment strategy and is also a member of the Canadian Equity Core team.

  Mr. Chan has 17 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 2008. Prior experiences include a position as Executive Director and Vice President of Canadian Equities at a major Canadian investment management firm.

  Mr. Chan obtained a Bachelor in Mathematics (BMath) from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering (BEng) from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Queen’s University. He also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Ashish Chaturvedi, MBA, CFA

  Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Small Cap Equities

  Ashish Chaturvedi is jointly responsible for the management of the Canadian Small Capitalization investment strategy and is also a member of the Canadian Equity Core team.

  Mr. Chaturvedi has 7 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 2009. Prior experiences include positions as Vice President, Associate Director and Analyst of Canadian Equities with leading Canadian investment management firms.

  Mr. Chaturvedi graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology with a Bachelor in Architecture and also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Richard Ivey School of Business. He also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Jean-Philippe Choquette, CFA

  Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities and Alternative Strategies

  Jean-Philippe Choquette is a member of the Growth team and is the lead Portfolio Manager for the Canadian Equity Growth, Market Neutral and Long/Short strategies. In addition, he is a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

  Mr. Choquette has 11 years of industry experience. He has been with the firm since its inception. Prior experience includes analyst positions at a major Canadian Investment Management firm.

  Mr. Choquette graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance. He also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

  Mr. Choquette has won four Lipper Awards in 2007, 2008 and 2009 for two retail funds under his management.

• Christian Cyr, CFA

  Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Small-Cap Equities

  Christian Cyr joined Natcan Investment Management in 2000, first as Analyst, then as Vice President for Small-Cap Equities. In January 2008, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and team leader. Christian cumulates 15 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining Natcan, he was covering the different sectors of the Canadian market as a sell-side analyst at Desjardins Securities and Tassé & Associates. Christian graduated from Université Laval with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, and is a CFA charterholder.

• Éric Dupont

  Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Small-Cap Equities

  Vice President, Small-Cap Equities, Éric Dupont joined Natcan in 2005 as Investment Analyst for Small-Cap Equities. He previously acted as assistant research analyst at Van Berkom & Associates, where he broadened his knowledge of the small-cap equity market sector. Éric is a graduate of Université de Sherbrooke where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management (finance).

• Jean-François Gagnon, CFA

  Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Equities and Alternative Strategies

  Jean-François Gagnon is a member of the Growth team and contributes to the management of the Canadian Equity Growth, Market Neutral and Long/Short strategies. He is also responsible for managing the Desjardins Quebec Fund.

  Mr. Gagnon has 18 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since 2009. Prior experiences include Portfolio Manager and Analyst positions at major Canadian investment management firms, including Fiera Capital from 2004 to 2006.

  Mr. Gagnon graduated from HEC Montréal with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance. He later received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Ray Halley

  Ray Halley is a member of the Core team and a Portfolio Manager responsible for managing the Canadian Equity Core strategy.

  Mr. Haley has 12 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 2009. Prior experiences include positions as Senior Portfolio Manager and Investment Analyst at major Canadian investment management firms.

  Mr. Halley graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance. He later received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Toronto Rotman School. He also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Timothy A.G. Hylton, CFA

  Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities

  Tim Hylton is a member of the Core team and a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for managing the Canadian Equity Core strategy.

  Mr. Hylton has 20 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 1992. Prior experiences include positions as Canadian Large Cap, Small Cap and U.S. Equity Portfolio Manager.

  Mr. Hylton graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and completed a Level 1 certification in the Canadian Investment Manager (C.I.M.) program. He also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Daniel Lavoie

  Assistant Portfolio Manager, Equities and Alternative Strategies

  Daniel Lavoie is a member of the Growth team and contributes to the management of the Canadian Equity Growth, Market Neutral and Long/Short strategies.

  Mr. Lavoie has 6 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since 2010. Prior experiences include Assistant Portfolio Manager and Analyst positions at leading Canadian investment management firms.

  Mr. Lavoie graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance.

• Marc Lecavalier, CFA, M.Sc.

  Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Small-Cap Equities

  Vice President, Small-Cap Equities, Marc Lecavalier joined Natcan Investment Management in 2001 as Analyst for Corporate and High-Yield Bonds. From 2004 to 2008, he acted as Investment Analyst and assistant Vice President for Small-Cap Equities, before being promoted to his current position. Marc has a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke, and is a CFA charterholder.

• Patrick Potvin, M.Sc., CFA

  Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Equities

  Patrick Potvin is a member of the Value team and is a portfolio manager for the Canadian equity Value and High Income Equity investment strategies.

  Mr. Potvin has 16 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since its inception. Prior experiences include Portfolio Management and Financial Analyst positions at leading Canadian investment management companies. He also served as co-lead of Fiera Capital’s Canadian Small Cap strategy from 2003 to 2010.

  Mr. Potvin graduated from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance. He later obtained a Master of Science in Finance (MSc) from Université de Sherbrooke as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Nadim Rizk, MBA, CFA

  Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Foreign Equities

  Nadim Rizk is head of Foreign Equities and is the lead manager of the U.S., International and Global equity strategies.

  Mr. Rizk has over 17 years of industry experience and joined the firm in 2009. Prior experiences include positions as Head of Global Equities, Lead manager for U.S. and Global equity portfolios, as well as Senior Global Research Analyst positions at some of Canada’s leading investment management firms.

  Mr. Rizk graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance. He later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from McGill University and also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Sylvain Roy, M.Sc., CFA

  Associate Chief Investment Officer / Vice President, Equities and Alternative Products

  As Associate Chief Investment Officer for Equities and Alternative Strategies, Sylvain Roy participates in strategic decisions related to the investment teams and ensures their ongoing monitoring, support, and the proper allocation of resources. He also supervises all equity trading activities.

  Mr. Roy has 14 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since 2004. Prior experiences include positions as Senior Portfolio Manager - Quantitative Strategies and Financial Engineering, Vice President - Global Asset Allocation and Quantitative analyst roles at major Canadian investment management firms.

  Mr. Roy graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance. He later received a Master of Science in Finance (MSc) from Université de Sherbrooke as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
