Mr. John Valentini is President and Chief Executive Officer, Fiera Private Alternative Investments.
In his role, he oversees Fiera Capital's alternative strategies platform, which includes real estate core and value-add, real estate financing, infrastructure, agriculture, private equity and private debt.
Mr. Valentini has over 20 years of experience as a senior executive in managing both public and private organizations, including in the area of investment management. Prior to joining Fiera Capital, he held the positions of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at PSP Investment Inc., Chief Financial Officer at BCE Emergis and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Cognicase Inc., as well as senior positions in Corporate Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Caisse de depot and placement du Quebec and Ernst & Young.
Mr. Valentini holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Great Distinction) and Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University and is an Advanced Management Program Graduate of Wharton, University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the following professional designations: Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, and Accredited Senior Appraiser. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Ciaran’s initiative is to grow Fiera Capital Europe’s Alternatives business and lead the marketing of Fiera Capital’s Infrastructure and Agriculture strategies in Europe.
Ciaran has more than 17 years of experience in the investment industry. His formative years were marketing in the UK and Europe, initially for Kleinwort Benson Investors and laterally AGF International Advisors. Since 2013, his experience has included undertaking business development activities in Asia, notably in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore, covering both alternative and traditional asset classes. Most recently, he was with a Canadian Asset Manager holding a role in Business Development within the EMEA (Europe and Middle East & Asia) region. During his tenure with this firm, Ciaran established its UK sales and marketing operation as well as introduced and raised capital for the firm’s Infrastructure business in Europe.
Ciaran obtained his BA from the University of Westminster; he also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Henley Management College and holds a Qualified Financial Advisor Diploma.
Prior to assuming his present role, Rehan served as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Clearwater Capital. He previously worked at Delphi Corporation, where he held several posts of increasing responsibilities, including Regional Treasurer, Manager of Corporate Finance and Capital Markets, Manager of Capital Planning, and Manager of Financial Risk Management.
François Cloutier oversees the human resources strategy at Fiera Private Alternative Investments, while also heading the department’s operations. In addition to establishing the strategic direction, he is responsible for talent management and a number of other areas related to workplace culture and human capital.
François joined Fiera Private Alternative Investments in April 2020. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of human resources. Since the beginning of his career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in human resources strategy and management. François has worked in a variety of industries, such as video gaming, aerospace, media and telecommunications. In his previous roles, he created talent management strategies, designed leadership and talent development programs. He also introduced a number of innovative human resources practices and contributed to strategic acquisition initiatives by leading the integration activities of acquired entities.
François holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) from the Université du Québec à Montréal, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Université du Québec à Montréal and the Université Paris-Dauphine (Paris IX).
Eric is responsible for the development and oversight of the legal function for the Fiera Private Alternative Investments platform worldwide. A business and legal advisor with extensive investment fund, M&A and corporate-development experience, he previously worked at a leading Canadian business law firm.
Marc-André is Chief Investment Officer, Fiera Private Alternative Investments. Marc-Andre is responsible for working closely with the Private Alternative platform leaders and teams to monitor the division’s investment performance, as well as support innovation and strategic planning. Marc-André is a member of several Private Alternatives Investment Committees, and with his team, responsible of the oversight of the different Private Alternatives feeder funds strategies globally.
Marc-André began working in the financial industry across various roles in 2001. He has been involved in the private alternative sector since 2008, spending seven years at Fiera Private Debt, where he was part of all the platform activities, from investment initiatives to operations. As a member of the management team, he helped improve operations, achieve targeted yields for investors and build a successful investment platform. In 2015, Marc-André took that experience to New York and, with his team, started to research the US market and analyzed private lenders across North America with the objective to support the growth of the Fiera Diversified Lending strategy and the launch of Fiera Global Diversified Lending strategy. In 2019, Marc-André became Deputy CIO, Fiera Private Alternative Investments, and in 2020 he moved back to Montreal to take the role of Chief Investment Officer, Fiera Private Alternative Investments.
Marc-André holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from HEC Montréal, majoring in Finance/International Management, a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Université du Québec à Montreal, majoring in Biology, along with an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.
