As the urgency to combat climate change intensifies, traditional metrics such as greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and carbon footprint continue to dominate discussions. In this paper, we demonstrate how capital expenditure (CapEx) can fill the gap left by backward-looking metrics by signalling how today’s investment commitments impact future climate trajectories.
